Also it would be a great thread for any 14ers to share any issues they've had and to ask other 14ers advice!

i know we have another morrison 5, benedict 4 and ovi 2 lurking in the midst so its time to come and have your voice heard!

My crew and I are going to have one hell of a steep learning curve as this thing is going to be just a little more tippy than our other boat which is a 25ft C-Class Catamaran, lots of swimming coming up me thinks!

Euww u have sobstad sails!!

They are probably the best made sails there are, but from the worst company possible! they dont seem to be able to organise a pi** up in a brewery! i had such fun trying to get new sails from my spice when i had it!..

Both boats looking good, cant wait to see them in action against some 5000s in the new mini circuit (details soon) and pitted against the 800 and 49er etc

Along with Windspirit of course!!

Fortunatly I also have a set of Hyde sails aswell and 3 kites biggrin.gif

I agree about the sobstad seem nice enough sails but ment to be expensive to repair (according to the boss guy anyway) sad.gif

Should be good fun anyhow. Cant wait to try it out against some other 14's. Should be a good match for Emma's as they are very similar. As long as we learn to sail it.

Hi Emma

Unfortunatly one has alot of patches, one has streched and the final one looks unused.

According to the measurement certificate it weighs 200LBS with 14LBS correctors.

I was looking at the certificate which says it is a turner design! From what I gather the boat is a morrison 7ish design with slight modifications made by the builder/designer Turner. Still very similar to yours though.

oh id get those correctors out then she'd be around 84kg a lil lighter than mine who weighs in at 85 atm

shame to hear about the kites.. i guess i'll have to go scavenging else where was worth a try though..

hows the new rudder working out?.. would be cool to have a step by step on here as lots of new penny 14 owners on here would probs benefit from converting their fixed rudder to lifting

I managed to get some photos this weekend of sailing the boat. Its the first time we have been out and have not gone swimming. Our spinniker drops were not too good though sad.gif
